Executive Team 

Takia Roberts

Chief Executive Officer

 

Takia is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of DynaSolar.  He has specialized in commercial and utility solar for more than ten years, with involvement in the construction trades for over twenty years. He has direct experience in installation, sales, on-site job management, project development, system design, design auditing, bidding, process implementation, and company growth management. Takia's large scale PV installation techniques have been used in solar training manuals and videos and have set the standard for installation speed and quality. Takia has been involved in the construction of over 650 MW of commercial scale solar PV projects and has led the DynaSolar team in successfully implementing one of the largest solar project funds in the United States. The DynaSolar team continues involvement with this portfolio of projects, serving as the O&M contractor for the Western United States. DynaSolar has managed the installation of over $1 billion of operating solar and wind assets in the last three years.

 

Thomas A. Polich

General Counsel

Chief Administrative Officer

 

Thomas is the General Counsel/Chief Administrative Officer of DynaSolar. He has 30 years’ experience in the energy industry, including 22 years direct experience in solar, serving in the capacities of counsel, General Counsel/Secretary, and COO for R&D, manufacturing, product and project development and construction companies. His legal practice emphasizes transactions in solar development, technologies and equipment, including, in part, business development, mergers, product sales, strategic alliances, intellectual property, trade and tariffs, equipment technologies, compliance, and financing.  Mr. Polich earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law and holds a BA Environmental Conservation, University of Colorado, Boulder.  Mr. Polich was a Lecturer in Law/Adjunct Professor, University of Denver, College of Law, published and has presented at numerous tradeshows and for private entities on issues such as tariffs & trade, PPAs, state solar regulation, SRECs, ITC, tax implications, development issues and recently the industries’ participation in Block Chain and Crypto-Currencies.  Mr. Polich is licensed to practice law in Colorado.

 

Rich Fenske

Chief Financial Officer
 

 

Rich is the Chief Financial Officer of DynaSolar and has more than 25 years of business experience. He has worked with Takia in the Solar industry since October 2011 and co-led the DynaSolar team in successfully implementing one of the largest solar projects funds in the US. Previously Rich worked for private venture capital funded companies, public manufacturing companies, real estate brokerage and real estate development. After becoming a CPA, he spent 12 years in management positions focused on building value for shareholders at various venture-funded start-ups and for Intel. Prior to working in the Solar industry Rich spent eight years working in commercial real estate brokerage and development. During his career, Rich has developed, implemented, and executed business plans to grow as well as restructure companies to meet operating and financial targets. He has partnered with management teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives. Rich has extensive experience with M&A and fundraising, including debt and private equity financing. Rich attended Santa Clara University, where he received his MBA and California Polytechnic at San Luis Obispo where he studied business. Rich is a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and is recognized as an expert in the commercial and investment real estate industry.

 

Brian Maul

President

 

Brian heads DynaSolar’s primary business operations. Over the last fifteen years, he has led cross-functional teams in the closing of nearly one billion dollars of complex commercial transactions in the oil and gas and wind and solar industries. Brian received his MBA from Rice University and his BS in engineering from Harvey Mudd College. Brian’s career has been spent supporting the construction of energy infrastructure projects, from gas pipelines to wind farms to solar power stations. He brings experience in project development, design and engineering, equipment supply, construction management and operations and maintenance to DynaSolar.

 

Clay Grant-Minchen

Director of Project Development

Clay Grant-Minchen, Director of Project Development, brings over 15 years of experience within the manufacturing, power generation and renewable energy industries. Before joining DynaSolar, Clay acted as a Director at Onyx Renewable Partners (Blackstone), and as Development Manager at SunEdison, where he successfully deployed large-scale C&I and Public Sector portfolios for high profile clients such as: Amazon, City of San Diego, and various California unified school districts. Previously, he worked at Hanergy, where he was in charge of utility-scale solar EPC programs and product launches in North and Latin America. Clay specializes in brownfield project development and has managed multi-million dollar enterprise asset management initiatives for electrical utilities and multinational construction firms. Clay is a PMI certified project manager, and obtained a BA at U.C. Berkeley and his MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands.

 

Jason is Director of Development with DynaSolar DevCo.  Jason has specialized in commercial and utility solar for more than 12 years, and has served in key construction, design, site assessment, site due diligence and site development roles on over 150 projects and 2GW of successful projects .  His skill set is particularly suited for sites with design challenges, for navigating permitting processes, for effective communication and presentation, for managing development scope, budget  and timelines, and for determining the most cost effective approach for a particular site. Prior to his solar career, Jason worked for 9 years in Environmental compliance, specializing in Cultural Resource Assessment.  Jason has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington.

Donato Rojas

Design & Feasibility Manager

Donato has been in the solar industry for over 7 years specializing in feasibility, design, and project development of commercial and utility scale PV projects. Donato’s experience includes site assessment, preliminary designs, energy yield optimization, revenue financial projections, CAD construction drawings, business development, construction, project management, and Research and Development of a non-penetrating roof racking solution. Donato attended New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he received a BA in Architecture. His training provides the wide-range of skills and knowledge that has cultivated the successful implementation of over 60 MW of solar generating facilities across the states.


Jeremy Donais

Senior Project Engineer

Jeremy is a Senior Project Engineer with DynaSolar EPCM and has been involved in Renewable Energy projects for the past 18 years and in a wide range of markets and projects. Jeremy has been involved with over 220 MW of PV Projects, 300 MW of Wind Power Generation and over 500 MGY of Ethanol Production Facilities. He has been involved in all facets of Project Management and Development from pre-construction services, estimating, scheduling, procurement, safety, quality control, job cost accounting and document control. He has also been involved in project start-up, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of renewable projects.


Kyle Talbot

Project Engineer

Kyle has over 6 years of technical experience with engineering and operations in the solar PV industry. With a strong knowledge of PV performance, optimization, design, commissioning, operations and procurement. He has been involved in over 500 MW of utility scale PV projects since 2010. Kyle received a BA from Santa Clara University and is pursuing his PMP at UC Berkeley. 


Ryan Chambers

Project Manager

Ryan, Project Manager for DynaSolar, began working in the solar industry in 2008, providing operational support with a focus on creating and refining operational processes and procedures to complete large scale solar projects on time and within budget.  His experience includes project management, procurement, logistics, value engineering, design coordination, permitting, and interconnection. 


Tai Ma

Senior Financial Analyst

 

Tai has been in the renewable energy industry since 2014, holding positions in the accounting, asset management and finance departments. He managed a portfolio consisting of 15 facilities and contributed to the financing of portfolios in  California, North Carolina and Minnesota. Prior to joining the industry, Tai spent time in various tax accounting roles. Tai received a BS in Managerial Economics from UC Davis and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California. 


James Roberson

Senior Site Manager

James is a Senior Site Manager with extensive management experience in operations, project management, sales, marketing and strategic planning. He joined the commercial solar field in 2009 as Director of Operations for SNRYPower. He worked with Georgia Public Service Commission, Governor’s office and Georgia Power to have the first Large Scale Solar Offering of 50 MW to be approved. He also worked with Simon Solar Farm (30 MW) and Solar Design and Development (20 MW) to be awarded the first 2 contracts for the LSS. James holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, as well as a Masters Certification in Project Management from Stevens Institute of Technology. James has a B.B.A. with a Dual Major in Marketing and Professional Selling from Kennesaw State University, an A.B.A. with a Major in Marketing from Reinhardt College, and a four-year Technical Degree in Automotive Mechanics from Pickens Area Technical School.


Gary Newton

Senior Site Manager

Gary is a Senior Site Manager for DynaSolar EPCM and began his construction career early as an Enlisted Marine serving as an Electrical Equipment Specialist in 1988. Upon completing his BS degree in Electronics Engineering from Southern Illinois University, he joined the United States Marine Officer Corps and rose to Captain serving as an Engineering Officer with focuses on demolitions, vertical/horizontal construction and remote power plant construction.

Upon retiring from the Marine Corps, Gary’s first job in the wind industry was with a company that installed 34.5 over medium voltage underground collection systems.  As his experience and knowledge grew in the renewable energy industry, he served in several big wind and solar projects as Project Manager, Electrical Superintendent and Site Superintendent for Alternative Energy Development, Bechtel and Greenwood BioSar building both solar and wind projects across North and South America. 


Kim Cole

President of DynaSolar Services

Over the past 8 years Kim has been involved with over 100 MW of successful large scale installations. She was an integral part of the successful launch of DynaSolar's Operations & Maintenance division. Kim is now the President of DynaSolar Services, managing a portfolio utility-scale PV projects in the U.S.  Kim’s ability to analyze data, coordinate diverse stakeholders, and communicate up and down the chain supports the DynaSolar family of companies in identifying movement and opportunities in the solar and other industries.


Frank Arcanin

Vice President of DynaSolar Services

Frank is the Vice President of DynaSolar Services and has worked in the Electrical Construction, and Operations & Maintenance Industry for 34 years. With over 25 years of experience in Project, Operations, and Business Management, he brings superior skill and in-depth knowledge to all aspects of the Renewable Energy Market. While at SunEdison Frank directed Operations & Maintenance activities, contracts, and optimized site production for 200+ Utility and Distributed Generation sites in the US and Canada. Frank has been credited with Industry Pioneering Achievements for Safety, Service and Customer Satisfaction. He has a celebrated track record of success specializing in O&M Contract Compliance, Site Optimization, and Operational Excellence. Frank received his BA from the University of Phoenix, holds a PMP, California C10 electrical contractors license, as well as over 16 other industry certifications.


Marc Dellorco

Manager of Technical Business Development

Marc has been a professional in the solar industry for over 14 years and has worked with Takia Roberts for over 11 of those years. He has performed a wide variety of tasks including design, project management, utility applications, permitting, due diligence, financial sourcing and business development for utility scale projects. In 2011, Marc worked with a team of solar professionals to create DynaSolar EPCM. Prior to working with DynaSolar EPCM, Marc owned his own solar consulting business. At DynaSolar, Marc’s current responsibilities include project origination, due diligence, and technical business development. Marc has participated in several hundred MW’s of installed projects.


Rebecca Hernandez

Business Development

Rebecca has over twenty years of Project Management and Business Management experience working in both residential and commercial sectors of civil engineering, architecture, real estate and renewable energy.  Rebecca’s diverse expertise has attributed to successful management of public corporate companies and her ability to focus on building foundations for various entrepreneurs and private start-ups.  The launch of her career in renewable energy started in 2006.


Katie Fraga

Office Manager

Katie has been in the renewable energy industry since 2013, providing superior administrative support to executives, sales teams and clients. She got her start in hospitality while supervising the front office at the Omni Hotel in San Diego and now manages DynaSolar’s reception desk while assisting on a variety of administrative duties and marketing projects. Katie received her BS in Instructional Design & Technology from CSU Chico.
